Libin Zhang
Libin Zhang received a M.S. and PhD from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She has over 10 years of experience in teaching and research including serving as a lecturer and researcher for UIUC, UMass Boston and MIT. Passionate about teaching, she enjoys helping children to learn the Chinese language embedded with the Chinese traditions.
The heart of her teaching philosophy is a single verb “engage”. She tries the best to engage knowledge with practice, engage teaching with daily experience, engage teaching with individual interests and levels of readiness. She always creates a safe and trustful environment for thoughtful exchanges. When designing the learning environment, she attends to culturally relevant and situational pedagogy and uses a variety of methods to enhance teaching.
She believes that the best learning experience happens in the natural and relaxed setting, and is dedicated to introducing a refreshing experience for students: learning is fun, the Chinese language is beautiful, and we enjoy learning Chinese!
